Sorting
  • Clicking on the header of any column sorts all the mnemonics by that field. Clicking the header again sorts it in the inverse direction.
  • One can set the preferences to show/hide the columns depending on whether or not they are currently needed.
  • A custom narrow font was built into the program to allow more text within the purpose column, allowing quicker location of a desired entry.
  • A "Look Up" box, at the bottom of the display, jumps to the first record that contains the entered letters anywhere in the purpose column.

Some columns have been turned off, and narrow font turned on for the purpose column. "Becker" has been entered in the Look Up box, making the list skip downward  to put "Duchenne vs. Becker" at the top of the displayed list.

Filters
  • Clicking inside any one of the 4 right columns (Discipline, System, Body Part, Knowledge Level) will pop up a listbox for that column. Clicking one of the listbox's choices restricts the list of mnemonics to that type. For example: one clicks anywhere inside the Disciplines column and chooses "Pathology" from the popup list box to only show Pathology mnemonics.
  • Multiple filters are allowed: for example after restricting to only Pathology, one can further restrict the System column to "Endocrine", ready for the afternoon's tutorial.
  • Filters can be cleared by clicking the header of the column to which the filter was applied.

Clicking inside the Discipline column pops up the list of Disciplines. "Pathology" has been selected from the popup to apply a filter which will only show Pathology mnemonics.

A Double-filtered list. After filtering to only Pathology mnemonics, the System column was restricted to Endocrine. Thus the list shows only the Pathology Endocrine mnemonics.

Built-in Search
  • Can search the database of mnemonics for keywords using the built-in search.
  • After entering the phrase to find, a popup shows the status of matches as it searches, then the results load up inside the list table ready for viewing.
